18th Century European Bent Brass J Hook Strainer
This strainer is a replica of strainers from the 18th century. Many were used on European drums. This piece is completely formed, shaped, and polished by hand.
19th century Hinge-Type Strainer
This is a replica of a type of strainer seen on some Civil War drums. It is made of brass, and it is slightly larger than the original ones to accommodate more gut.
Brass Lever-Style Strainer
This strainer is actually a 20th Century design. It is similar to strainers that have been used by other companies during the last 50 years. Its design allows the gut to be pulled straight across the snare head, not bent over the flesh hoop. This allows for more immediate action from the snare gut, giving a crisper sound. It can accommodate up to 12 strands of gut. It is made of solid brass and hand polished.
19th Century Screw-type Strainer
This strainer is very popular on Civil War drums. We replicated this strainer from an original Civil war drum. The base piece mounts on the counter hoop, and the screw pulls the gut up as it is turned.
J Hook Strainer
This is an 18th Century design. It can also be used on 19th Century drums. The brass piece is hand polished,is threaded on the back, and includes a screw and flat washer to attach it to the drum shell.
Brass Feet This piece is designed to protect the rope from damage while the drum is place on the ground. Made of solid brass that is hand polished. Mounting screws included.
Bass Drum Carry Made of solid brass and hand polished. Includes large flat washer and locking nuts.
